REACTION - Battlefield 2042’s Ten Hour Trial Is The Right Move After A Wonky Beta

Battlefield 2042 is in an odd place right now. The marketing has been very strong, with the game pitched as a long overdue return to form in the modern era, and the promise of the Portal custom editor offering an exciting and different flavour for long term fans. But man, that beta was a hot mess. Particularly on last gen consoles, where it gave off Cyberpunk 2077 vibes in the worst way possible.

One would hope that the litany of glitches will be addressed for launch. But with plenty of comparison videos doing the rounds identifying missing features, reduced environmental destruction, and an overall sense that it could do with some more time in the oven, broader perception seems decidedly mixed.

That being said, the 10 hour EA Play / Game Pass Ultimate trial is a smart way to win round those put off by the Beta experience, and give people a better taste of the intended final release.
