Breaking down barriers.

The more and more I see of Chivalry 2, the more enticed I am by its premise and feature set. After recently confirming cross platform play across PC and console, AND free upgrades from last to current gen versions, we’re also now getting a Closed Beta at the end of April well ahead of the June 8th full release.

Coupled with smart budget pricing (which, like Hood: Outlaws and Legends, makes sense for a multiplayer only release), and things are looking positive for Torn Banner’s first person slasher. Early combat animation looks a tad janky in places, and I’m not convinced by the current level of visual polish, but there’s plenty of time to nip and tuck those aspects.

If they manage to nail the feel of combat, and maintain a healthy community, Chivalry 2 could carve itself a nice little niche, especially with a fairly regular update cadence.

For access to the Closed Beta (scheduled to run from Friday, April 23 at 15:30 BST through Monday, April 26 at 03:30 BST) drop a pre-order for your chosen platform. Cross play will be enabled!
