REACTION - That Halo Season 2 trailer is looking mighty fresh

Feelin’ the Chief.

There’s enough evidence to suggest that the videogame adaption curse has been well and truly lifted. Sonic ticked boxes for its target audience (and Jim Carrey is iconic), HBO did a fantastic job tweaking The Last of Us, and Halo’s first season, although uneven, still did a bang up job adapting a large scale story to the small screen.

The reveal that Halo Season 2 is covering the events of Reach, and exploring territory from arguably one of Bungie’s best single player campaigns, is extremely enticing. Production value wise it’s off the charts, and the trailer itself is a well paced, spoiler sensitive look that gives a good flavour of the scope one can expect.

I’m still not convinced that Master Chief should be taking off his helmet, even though generally speaking I’m all for adaptions deviating somewhat from their source material in order to make their stories unique. Minor gripes aside, this looks like a banger, and is due to drop on Paramount+ later next month on February 8th. You can check out the trailer here.

TARPS?

At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
