The right approach.

It’s wonderful to see so many platform holders and publishers treating accessibility in gaming with increased importance. While the work is still ongoing, with much still to be done, there are countless examples of developers and industry figures using their products and leverage to draw attention to this critical issue.

Therefore it’s genuinely lovely that Microsoft are continuing their partnership with the Special Olympics, and will be helping to facilitate an inaugural esports experience entitled “Gaming for Inclusion”. This will lay the groundwork for future events, with this specific endeavour set to become an annual affair.

I firmly believe that as these opportunities become more normalised and mainstream, accessibility will eventually become a widespread industry standard. And that’s the kind of good news the world sorely needs right now.
