Making bank and blowing it up.

The Finals has been on our radar for quite some time, having been in various stages of Alpha and closed testing on PC. A console release was always on the cards, and now that’s edging closer with today’s announcement of an imminent beta that supports both cross play, cross progression, and its own beta specific set of unlocks that will carry over into the full game.

We’re getting three maps, and variants of the “Cashout” objective based mode. “Bank It” is also included, and is more of a team deathmatch type experience. More importantly, these ex-Battlefield devs have included their fully realised destruction tech in this open beta, with a comprehensive system that was extremely impressive when we went hands on during earlier testing phases.

It’s all coming together very nicely, with a current gen / PC only release, and a confirmed week long run time for the beta test itself. Can you tell we’re excited? I can confirm that we’re excited.

TARPS?

At the bottom of some of our articles, you’ll see a series of absurd looking images (with equally stupid, in joke laden names). These are the TARP badges, which represent our ‘Totally Accurate Rating Platform’. They allow us to identify specific things, recognise positive or negative aspects of a games design, and generally indulge our consistent silliness with some visual tomfoolery.
