RANDOM - FriendGlobe is a massive hit with players, but it’s no longer the underdog so now we’re obliged to hate it

Welcome to the party, Pal[world].

After an unexpectedly strong debut via the Nintendo eShop, Pokemon parody FriendGlobe has continued to take over the fictional zeitgeist with a barnstorming response from players. But then we remembered that we’re British, so therefore because we couldn’t possibly root for something that has achieved a meteoric level of success, we now moan about it on Twitter.

A spokesperson for FriendGlobe developer “FatNorksInc” released a statement via Snapchat earlier today. “We’re thrilled with the response to FriendGlobe. Clearly there’s a huge market for ripping off Pokemon and pretending we didn’t. However, all those grumpy British naysayers should go eat a shrimp on the barbie and leave us be”.

Mixed cultural references aside, it’s clear that FriendGlobe is here to stay. Given that discoverability on the Nintendo eShop is objectively dreadful, we’re confident that people will forget about it when Nintendo announce another re-release of an old Mario game.

Also, Palworld is shit.
