Meaningful transparency is a best case scenario approach, especially when developers are keen to involve their fans and take feedback while a title takes shape. Unlike previous “early looks” offered by EA, which often amounted to nothing more than off screen concept art and wireframe soldiers, Motive’s deep dive into the philosophy behind their spin on Dead Space was equal parts instructive and tantalising.

Logical changes are being made, including dismemberment detail enhancements and the return of Issac’s voice actor from 2 and 3 (Gunner Wright) to add dialogue to the originally silent protagonist. Tweaks and additions appear to be being carefully considered, and the overall vibe from the live stream was of a team that holds this project in high regard.

It’s a promising start for the PC / next gen only refresh, and fingers crossed will pave the way for remakes of the subsequent games, and maybe even some brand new adventures as well.
